Talkshowgate: The ongoing saga of Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien

NBC is in a gigantic pickle. With its recent annoucement that The Jay Leno Show is moving to the 11:35 pm slot after the Olympics, pushing Conan O'Brien's Tonight Show back to 12:05 am, the mood is not the happiest at the once-proud network. Angriest is O'Brien, who wrote a scathing, yet polite, letter to NBC management earlier in the week that stated he would no longer host the Tonight Show if the time-shift took place. He's not the only one furious with the network. Affiliates, viewers and other talk show hosts are vilifying NBC for its underhandedness. Even Jay Leno, who looks to come out ahead in this crisis with a return back to the Tonight Show, is angry at the network and, according to rumors, may be considering jumping ship as well. What do you think of this whole situation? Should Conan fight for his rightful spot (it was promised to him six years ago)? Should Jay try to take over his old show? Do you really care?

It's not about him being the owner or making the money he does. It's the fact that NBC screwed him over after spending six years preparing him for the program. Rather than giving him the chance to bring the show's ratings up, they decided to make the move to push the show back 30 minutes to keep Jay Leno, who has some sort of spell over them. Think of it this way: would you want to be relegated to the basement cubicle at your job to make way for the guy your boss said he was going to fire but kept on anyway because he had photos of the boss and his secretary doing the nasty?

conan o'brien is an employee of NBC, he is not the owner of the channel, so I think he should accept the new changes
